I think the reasons people wear eye patches are: Pirates, if they have a hurt eye. (Or anyone, really.) If you're trying to concentrate on seeing something with one eye only. Or if you have funny eyesight where one eye is stronger than the other, you were a patch over the better eye so the worse eye gets used more.

As for more exciting Animal Jam updates, it's the day of the week once again where players can get the Rare Item Monday. And for this week, the Rare Item Monday features a 'Rare Eye Patch' that players can use during their voyages on the sea.
Eye patch was popularly used by pirates. Animal Jam's Daily Explorer page shared a trivia about the most 'terrible' pirate. The post reads:
'One of the most terrible - and by that I mean AWESOME - pirates was Lady Ching Shih. She lead what was probably the most feared pirate armada of the Chinese oceans during the 1800s. Lady Ching is said to have had hundreds of ships under her control.'
