If you have ever played Animal Jam or Play Wild during the month of October, you will know that this meant is all about Halloween. The Night of the Phantoms event has started again, and with that, AJHQ has decided to release their newest animal into PW; the Hyena. Today, we are going to take a closer look at the Hyena, see what it looks like and check out its abilities.
The Hyenas was first released on September 26, 2018. As with most other new animal releases, you can buy the animal at the Sapphire Shop for 150 Sapphires. You can also get the Haunted Hyena Bundle for 250 Sapphires. This bundle includes the Hyena itself and two exclusive outfits that match the Night of the Phantoms theme; the Sorcerer’s and Sorceress’ Outfits.
Play Wild Hyena Appearance
The default color scheme of the Hyena in PW is dark blue for its fur, and pink for its hair, spots and highlights. Of course, it is possible to change the appearance of the animal to your liking. It stands on all four legs, with its long head looking ahead. The Hyena in PW actually looks rather similar to a real-life hyena. The people over at AJHQ definitely did a good job on creating it.

Hyena Actions & Special Abilities in AJPW
I have taken pictures of the Hyena’s special abilities and actions. It is a pretty special animal, and definitely fun to own one in PW. Let’s take a look at what the Hyena is able to do.
The dance ability makes it stand on its hind legs, and shuffle left to right, go down to swing its legs a few times and then go back right to left. It repeats this until you stop it.
The play ability makes it look like the Hyena is laughing uncontrollably. It will then fall on its back, laughing, and then return to its original position.
The hop ability makes it jump up high. If you are zoomed in on PW, it will definitely disappear from your screen.

The sit ability makes it sit down, but it will slightly wiggle back and forth.

The sleep ability makes the Hyena lay down, its head down on the ground. There is a breathing animation, making it slightly go up and down.

Currently, the only way to get the Hyena in PW is by either buying it at the Sapphire Shop for 150 Sapphires, or by buying the Haunted Hyena Bundle for 250 Sapphires. There are no codes available for this animal at the present time.
