Every Jammer enjoys having a Rare, or multiple Rares. Not many people have them, they are interesting and they put you in the spotlight. Sometimes, it is not easy to get your hands on Rares in Animal Jam. That’s why there are so many scammers trying to steal your Rares from you. Luckily, there are a few methods that you can use to get more Rares in Animal Jam.
1. Trading Rare Items
If you are looking for certain Rares, it is a good idea to trade for them. To do so, you’ll need Rare, or expensive items yourself, or else no one would want to trade with you. One of the most wanted items in AJ is the Golden Bow and Arrows.
The reason being that the Golden Bow and Arrows is one of the most expensive items in the game. You can buy a set at the Epic Wonders shop. Be prepared to spend 4500 of your gems for the whole set.
Once you have the set, go to a busy world, and find out where all the other Jammers are hanging out. You can usually find many Jammers at the Jamaa Township. Once there, type out what you are trading, and what you are looking to trade for. People usually will offer at least a Rare, if not multiple Rares for a Golden Bow and Arrows set.
2. Mondays are Important
Every Monday on Animal Jam, several rare items get released. You can buy those rare items with gems. It is a good idea to buy those Rares, especially since they are only available for a very short period of time. Their value almost always goes up because of this.
Keep in mind that Rare Item Mondays, or RIMs, often only includes members-only Rares. The items are often also pretty expensive. If you don’t have enough inventory space on your account for all of your Rares, it’s a good idea to make multiple accounts, and then transfer your Rares.
3. Collect Adventure Items
Doing more adventures in AJ will reward you with gems. However, sometimes it is possible to get a Rare item drop by doing an adventure. When asked about the difficulty mode, you should pick Hard, as it will increase the rate of a Rare item drop.
However, keep in mind that the Rare item drop might not be what you were looking for. You can then repeat the method above and try to trade your unwanted Rare item for an item that you were looking for.
4. Play Return of the Phantoms
Return of the Phantoms is one of those adventures that has a decent chance of dropping a Rare item. Make sure to select Hard when you are at the Adventure Difficulty screen. After you successfully complete the Return of the Phantoms, you receive a treasure chest. That treasure chest might contain a very nice Rare item.
5. Pick up Items on Clearance
During the Holiday Season, many items in the Shops go on clearance. If you see a tag that says “number of days left”, it means that particular item will leave the shops for a while. It is a good idea to buy those items, because they will become Rare on their own. You can then use those clearance items to trade for other Rares that you might have been looking for.
6. Special Holidays in Animal Jam
It is also a good idea to play Animal Jam on special days, such as Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Christmas and more. On these days, you are able to collect special armor sets and other items, matching the theme of the day. Those items usually becomes pretty Rare, especially since not everyone is able to collect them.
I hope this guide has been helpful to see how to get more rares in Animal Jam. There are lots of rares to collect so pick your favorites and try to get them! Which rare items are your favorites? Do you have any to trade? Let us know in the comments!
